The divine embodiment of boundless energy and universal motherhood
Adi Parashakti, meaning Eternal Limitless Power, represents the ultimate power, and she is considered to be the energy of Para Brahmam. All other Shakti deities are her forms, extensions, and manifestations, having the active energy for creation and destruction when it is necessary, described as Param Prakrti in the Devi Bhagawat Maha Purana.
She is the divine power that governs the universe and is revered as the universal mother. The Devi Bhagwata Mahapurana asserts that Adi Parashakti is considered as the original creator, observer, and destroyer of the universe.
Additionally, the Chovvara Devi Temple's idol embodies Adi Parashakti with twelve hands. On the goddess's right side, there are representations of fire, axe , churika, bow and arrow, udukku, and Kamandalu. To the left of the goddess, one can observe the devi chakra, mace (gada), amruthakalasham , trishulam, khadga (sword), and varadha mudra. These elements collectively symbolize her diverse nature and signify her role as the ultimate source of energy and power in the universe.
